Or Chien (Oyster and Egg)

One of the famous food in Muar town, last time the stall open only during evening till night. But opening hours has change drastically and open during afternoon time only and it is quite fast sold out especially weekends.

As he mentioned fewer customers during evening time and most of the people sleep early in the town now compared to older days.

Restoran Fatty Mok Hakka Yong Tau Foo @ Salak South

This is one the places where it is quite cheap and reasonable to eat as there are varieties of food to choose but the food I simple love is the satay. They also have good yong tou foo and steam chicken there.

The satay there is super moist and juicy, as the reason they put some fats into the meatHowever the sauce pretty mild and has no kick at all compared to other satay stall. But I feel eating the satay on its own is pretty good already.

Chuup (Damansara Jaya)

Went to Chuup with in laws family members, there are plenty of good food but unable to try all the food ordered. Extremely sad but definitely go again to taste the missed out food. Also tried the sandwich and chicken rice which also really worth to order .
Really a combination of hainanese and western style together.

Tasted ice coffee latte and durian coffee, both are good.

Lai Mien (Oasis Food Court) @ Mid Valley

Unexpected found a worthy lai mien shop in Oasis Food Court in Mid Valley to try out and it is very reasonable price (less than MYR10). It is hand-pull noodle which very smooth and springy made on the spot as you order. The broth also really thick and flavourful but you can add vinegar depend your preference.

I believe it is open by couple of Chinese Muslims from China. Therefore it is halal, but it is have mostly chicken and beef option.

Apart of this lai mien, I also goes for the portugese style grill fish which pretty famous there too

Restaurant Pu Yuan (Sweet Potato Noodle)

My relative recommended us to go to this hidden restaurant few weeks ago, we decided to go try out but we could not find it at first as it is really hidden away. Therefore need to be a bit daring to walk around a bit to find the place. My relative was joking on how to find the place...it is smack between 2 restaurants and like looking for a toilet door with white door. (O),(O)

We ordered fried sweet potato flour noodle for the first time, it is so good but it is quite small portion eventhough we ordered 2pax for this dish but the amount look like 1pax only and cost MYR15. Required to order some side dishes. Definitely interesting to venture more on what they have and will be going back to try more their very local food.

This dish is hard to find in any restaurant at all or able to cook this dish so well.

Japanese food

My sis brought this good from JP for me to try it out. It contained sesame seed, dried seaweed and wasabi (the rest of the stuff inside, I have no clue at all). Just sprinkle a tiny bit onto your plain rice to add more flavour. It is quite nice and tasty but the wasabi is serious hot!

Chen Chen Hong Kong Goose, Pudu

Had lunch in Chen Chen Goose stall for the first time, the price is quite reasonable and portion is quite big. We ordered goose individually and unable to finish everything. There are 2 different dark sauces they provided were extremely great to dip with when eat with the goose. The complimentary soup is freeflow and there will a guy walking around to pour more soup into our bowls.

Here is another link to find more places to eat duck or goose in KL/PJ area. I have tried 3 out of 6 places in the list, they are quite unique own itself and worth trying out each of them actually.

Gou Lou Famous Fish Head Noodle

This is one of the good place to eat in Jalan Alor during breakfast and lunch where they do great fish head noodle, tom yam seafood and curry noodle.

I always go for the tom yam seafood noodle as it is really spicy and just right for my taste bud. It is quite addictive. However not everyone unable to take the level of spicyness, they will go for their fish head or fish paste noodle. Their fish paste is quite good and fresh as it is also bouncy, yet not too soft. But it is best to go before or after lunch time as even on weekend as it is quite pack of patrons and quite limited tables. Preferable to sit inside rather outside as the weather in KL is quite humid.

Honey Smoked Duck (Korea)

Currently Isetan KLCC having Korea Food Fair. I don't fancy Korean food but my sis is a big fan. However this smoke honey duck look promising and bought a packet to try out. Seem it is quite easy to cook especially those who want to have a quick meal. Just toss the duck meat into the pan without any oil needed as the oil will ooze out from the duck meat. It is done within 3-5 mins. However the expiry duration from the manufacturer is 2 months. Just with with plain rice or with pasta is good enough. It is tasty and juicy..unlike those packaged meats in the grocery market. Will definitely buy if Isetan do sell them at all times.
