Customs rules might be a harm more than good sometimes

Nanyang Siang Pau reported that a woman, who was in confinement after giving birth recently, suffered heatstroke and died while being treated in a hospital in Shandong province, China.
It was learnt that the woman, who was in her 20s, was not allowed to switch on the fan or air-conditioner although the weather was extremely hot.
Her family members also asked the woman to wear a long-sleeved blouse and pants, and to cover herself with a blanket.
Some Chinese believe that women who have given birth should not be exposed to cool air as it could lead to health problems in the future.

Too many rules and customs strictly given to pregnant ladies and does under confinement which required to obey. Sometimes you need to judge what is right and wrong and stand firm eventhough people might angry or hurt as you ignore their old custom rules.
We all need to adapt to current situation instead stuck to all the customs rules given by elders with "valid and practical reasons" which yourself must understand first before agree to it.

Yes, as if you will awesome health without any issue till you die. As you age, your health is unavoidable deteriote so do not use lame reason to make a woman suffer due to your belief.

Your body - your decision, not others.

In the end, the child is motherless as the mother just follow to old custom which even elders just follow previously.
