DBKL Assessment Rate 2014

Hope DBKL will sent out the notice letter on the official renewal assessment rate to KL property owners as it is quite confusing whether they actually reduces the rates flat to all or only certain location and based on the property they define?

Commercial Property = 12% to 10%
Serviced Apartment =    10% to 7%
Residential Property  =  6% to 4%
Low Cost Flats =  6% to 2%


Certain clauses I am quite confuse still as how DBKL will define the rates for below:
1] The new rates will not be applicable for low and middle-cost properties and owners will still pay the old rates
2] Further rebates will be given to disabled property owners, retirees and owner-occupied premises
3] If you can prove that the revised rates is still a burden, than the panel can reduce it but you must give us proof why you want the reduction


I could not agreed more as it is quite muddy and confusing on the latest assessment rate they announced. As even it drop to 4%, still a slight increase fee we need to pay yearly. But if follow on point 1 where low and middle cost property remain the old rate of 6%, then a lot of people still remain on the burden on the spike cost as majority are living in low and middle cost properties...in short...middle income level citizen still get the pinch! They should be more clarify on this revision rates as quickly as possible.

Wish they could list out the new assessment rate in detail and also on the each location of neighbourhoods and taman in DBKL website link and maintain their website up-to-date .
